The Lasius niger , known as the common black ant, is one of the most recommended species for beginners due to its high resistance , easy care , and rapid reproduction . Its adaptability makes it a perfect species for beginners in myrmecology, both for adults and children.
This colony includes a fertilized queen and between 5 and 15 workers , perfect for starting with an already established base without going through the solo foundation.

The colony is shipped in a sealed test tube, protected against shock and thermal fluctuations. It is not recommended to transfer the colony to the nest until the ants have stabilized after transport.
